Cher, Faye Dunaway, Eva Marie Saint, Carl Reiner, Marilyn and Alan Bergman and famed cinematographer Haskell Wexler—in addition to film historian and journalist Leonard Maltin—will all take part in the tribute.

Jewison has worked in the motion picture industry for four decades. Over the course of his career he has been credited as director and producer on such groundbreaking films as In the Heat of the Night, ….And Justice for All, A Soldier’s Story, Moonstruck and The Hurricane. He has personally been nominated for four Academy Awards while his films have a total of 46 nominations. Ten years ago Jewison received the prestigious Irving Thalberg Award at the Academy Awards for his body of work.

In part to the collaboration with the LACMA, the Canadian Film Centre (CFC) and Film Independent (FIND), Jewison will be receiving more praise for all of the success of his career. After the tribute conversation, a special screening of Moonstruck will take place. Others attending the evening’s events include Mia Kirshner, Patrick Gallagher, Valerie Curtain, David James Elliot, Kevin Ziegers and Alan Thicke.

This event not only salutes Jewison’s accomplishments, but also marks the 20th anniversary of the CFC, which Jewison founded in 1988.
