MCTC’s Filmmaking Program will train you in the art and craft of filmmaking using a combination of aesthetic, technical and theoretical approaches. The program is rigorously hands-on, so you will use a camera almost from the first day. By creating personal and group productions, you will develop solid skills in directing, camera operation, lighting, editing, preproduction, screenwriting, and field sound recording. Experienced faculty–all professional filmmakers–will help you understand and develop the skills involved in many of the craft/technical positions in the filmmaking industry. The program includes a broad spectrum of classes in production, history of film, sound and screenwriting.
