The Film and Television Master’s Programs (MFA and MA) offered by the School of Communication and Media Arts at Sacred Heart University are “conservatory style” programs devoted to cinematic storytelling across all platforms.

Students learn the craft and techniques empowering them to stand out in today’s media market. We offer both a one-year, 36 credit Master of Arts (MA) and a two-year, 51 credit Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program.

FTM(F)A Program Highlights:

Film Conservatory: Our graduate conservatory focuses on students writing, directing, producing and editing their own stories. Additionally, students will engage in industry internships and generate a portfolio of work culminating with individual “thesis” films.

Part of CT’s Media Hub:

Classes are held at SHU’s West Campus in Fairfield, CT, housing new facilities that include a sound stage, post-production suites, and production offices. FTM(F)A is in the heart of Connecticut’s “Creative Corridor”, drawing from the resources of nearby New York City to create a relevant, rich learning experience.

Individualized Attention:

Our graduate film programs offer small class sizes and a workshop environment. Students work closely with mentors on their productions and tailor concentrations to meet individual career goals.

Experienced Faculty:

Our faculty and instructors are comprised of acclaimed filmmakers and working television professionals. Our student experience includes screenings and “Masterclass” events where invited prominent industry professionals to engage our students and discuss the fine points of making film and television.
Find your crew. Tell your story. MM
