Hill and Moore Travel to Lake City
By Kyle Rupprecht
One of the more compelling independent films being released this fall is Lake City, the directorial debut of up-and-coming moviemakers Hunter Hill and Perry Moore. The film stars Academy-Award winner Sissy Spacek as a mother who reunites with her estranged son (Troy Garity) under desperate circumstances, years after a family tragedy drove them apart. The eclectic supporting cast includes Keith Carradine, Rebecca Romijn, Drea De Matteo (“The Sopranos”) and musician Dave Matthews. Moore is best known for producing the wildly successful Chronicles of Narnia movie adaptations, which include The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian. Hill, who co-wrote the film with Moore, based Lake City on a traumatic experience that occurred in his childhood. The film hits theaters on November 7th.
MM caught up with Hill and Moore to discuss their searing Southern drama, which is quickly gaining buzz.
