With enough star wattage to cause a blackout, He’s Just Not That Into You took the top spot at the box office this weekend, proving that moviegoers were into a movie about guys who just aren’t that into you. Starring Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Aniston, the movie took in $27.5 million. In second place, the Liam Neeson vehicle Taken made off with $20.3 million, bringing its two-week total to $53.4 million.

Coraline, the 3D animated film based on a book by Neil Gaiman and featuring the voice talent of Dakota Fanning, came in third place with $16.3 million. Push, Fanning’s other new movie this week (also starring Chris Evans and Camilla Belle) came in at 6th place with $10.2 million. Steve Martin’s Pink Panther 2 opened in the most number of theaters, with 3,243 showing the film, but came in 4th place with $12 million. And Paul Blart: Mall Cop rounded out the top five with $11 million, putting it just $3 million short of the $100 million mark.

The week’s other new release, Fanboys, with Kristen Bell and Dan Fogler, opened small in 44 theaters and brought in $164,000.

Next week brings in more movies vying for the top spot. Clive Owen and Naomi Watts battle a killer bank in The International; Friday the 13th takes full advantage of the marketing possibilities associated with opening a movie on the day of its title; and Aussie actress (and fiancé of Sacha Baron Cohen), Isla Fisher, will try to prove to the world that she’s capable of carrying a movie when Confessions of a Shopaholic opens in theaters.
