Jumper director Doug Liman will give the keynote address at this year’s NAB Show, the world’s largest electronic media conference devoted to developing innovative content. Titled “Redefining Must See TV,” Liman’s keynote address will cover the current state of network television programming and what it might take to create the first Internet-based hit show. Liman’s talk will take place in Las Vegas on Monday, April 14.
Liman is perhaps best known for the cult classic Swingers, starring Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau, as well as for launching the Jason Bourne franchise by helming The Bourne Identity, the series’ first movie. He also directed such diverse hits as Go and Mr. And Mrs. Smith. Liman has also been active in television; his company Jackson Bites creates TV-style programming for alternative distribution. Liman scored perhaps his biggest television success by executive-producing the first season of the Fox hit series “The OC”; Liman also directed the pilot episode of the popular show.
Liman joins an impressive roster at this year’s NAB Show, with other speakers to include “Lost” masterminds Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, “CSI” creator Anthony Zuiker and “Pushing Daisies” executive producer Barry Sonnenfeld.
