Month of October will mark the city of Cluj-Napoca by the organization of the fifth edition of the “Gay Film Nights” Festival, whose international reputation grows year by year.
Last year’s success inspired the organisers to develop this event as premium and to bring films from all the corners of the world to Cluj-Napoca. “Same people. Same ideals. Different only in appearances!” is the motto of this jubilee edition which will take place between the 13th and the 19th October 2008, organized by “Be An Angel Romania”. This festival will be an occasion for the organisers to open the LGBT community with its problems to the Romanian society. “Using art we try to build a footbridge of communication and knowledge of people, regardless of their sexual orientation”, the organisers explain. The festival program will feature artistic movies with an LGBT thematic, a contest section, expositions and shows, parties and other happenings and events. As every year, in the Gala of “Romanian Gay Awards”, a public figure of Romania who helps and supports the gay community in the country will be awarded. Also, continuing the tradition of the previous years, the entrance will be free of charge. Expected productions of film sections include feature films, documentaries and short length films. Interested people can apply until 1st of October 2008.
