Action remake Bangkok Dangerous won by a nose this weekend, netting $7.8 million and beating out previous top dog Tropic Thunder by a mere $300,000. The House Bunny managed to climb up a spot from last week, taking third place with $5.9 million. Coming in at number four is record-smashing The Dark Knight, which has yet to be knocked out of the top five list since its release on July 14, boasting a 52-day gross of $512.2 million. Conspiracy thriller Traitor held onto its number five spot for the second consecutive week with $4.7 million.
Next weekend marks the debut of many highly anticipated fall movies, including Burn After Reading, Righteous Kill and The Women. Will one of these films be able to put Bangkok in danger? Find out in next week’s Top of the Box Office Report.
