Baltimore has long been known for its two most native sons, filmmakers Barry Levinson and John Waters, but it also seeks to be known as, in the words of Mayor Martin O’Malley, “The most film friendly city in the country.” Baltimore’s Division of Film, Video and Television guides production companies through their search for locations and the use of government properties, permits, etc. Some of the incentives of filming in Baltimore include parking passes for location scouts, free use of selected City properties and facilities as well as various Maryland tax incentives.
