The teaser trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water is here; Succession creator Jesse Armstrong answers Season 4 questions but remains tightlipped about one key thing; Mubi makes acquisition noise ahead of Cannes. All in today’s Movie News Rundown.

For Our Latest Low Key Podcast: We pose the question, “Could any other actor play himself as well as Nicolas Cage plays Nicolas Cage in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent?” You can listen for some maverick and willful choices on Apple or Spotify or here:

Box Office: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness had a strong opening weekend with $185 million domestically and a global total of $450 million. “The $450M score is the 2nd biggest global start for a Hollywood movie during the pandemic era, and the fourth ever for the MCU, behind Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Deadline reports.

The Lost City: The immensely charming rom-com starring Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt hits Paramount+ tomorrow. I caught this opening weekend and the theater audience of mostly couples had a palpably rocking good time. I highly recommend it.

Succession Season 4 Update: Succession creator Jesse Armstrong accepted an award for Matthew Macfadyen yesterday at the Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards and then spoke with press backstage afterward. “We’re almost done with the writing for season 4, here in London, with the American writers coming over,” Armstrong said. He then added that the next step is to share the writing with the cast, to get their feedback. Variety reports there was one question that Armstrong wouldn’t answer backstage however: when the show should end. “I won’t answer that one precisely. I don’t think it should go on forever. But we’re still having fun at the moment.”

Mubi Makes Moves: Arthouse streamer, publisher and distributor Mubi has been impressively expanding in the past few years and last week Deadline announced that it picked up the latest Park Chan-Wook thriller Decision to Leave ahead of its Cannes competition bow. Now Mubi has picked up the rights for another Cannes film: Léa Mysius’ The Five Devils which stars Blue is the Warmest Colour star Adèle Exarchopoulos. Mysius’ film is playing in the Directors’ Fortnight category, alongside Mia Hansen-Løve’s One Fine Morning, a Mubi co-production.

Avatar 2: The teaser trailer that wowed CinemaCon audiences and played ahead of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness this weekend is now available online. Check it out below:

More Trailers: In case you missed it, Margeaux Sippell has a write up on the trailer for David Cronenberg’s latest, Crimes of the Future.  Be forewarned: it has that patented body horror that will either have you excited or squirming, or both.
