You know that the Austin Film Festival is one of the world’s premier screenwriting-focused events. But did you know just how great a track record they have? Four of this year’s screenwriting Oscar nominations belong to AFF alumni—The Messenger for Best Original Screenplay and An Education, Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire and Up in the Air for Best Adapted Screenplay.
To celebrate, the fest is offering a discounted price on all Lone Star Badges for its 2010 event, taking place October 21-28, 2010. The price is just $75 for the remainder of the week, leading up to the conclusion of the Oscars on Sunday, March 7th. Anyone who purchases a badge during this time is also eligible to win a free upgrade to a Weekend Badge (a $255 value) during the Oscars. If an AFF alum scores a statue, be the first person to tweet or post the following, and you could be mingling with next year’s nominees.
