The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) announced the feature film nominees for the 24th annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards. This year’s nominees include a past winner, Nine‘s Dion Beebe, BSC, who won for Memoirs of a Geisha in 2006, and a former nominee, Robert Richardson, ASC, whose current nomination for Inglourious Basterds is his ninth. The first-time nominees include Barry Ackroyd, BSC for The Hurt Locker; Christian Berger, AAC for The White Ribbon and Mauro Fiore, ASC for Avatar.
In response to this year’s group of nominees, ASC President Michael Goi remarks, “It is a daunting challenge for our members to narrow a competitive field down to five films that represent the most artful cinematography we have seen during the past year.”
The award will be presented at the ASC Awards celebration on February 27. For more information on the nominees and the 24th Annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards, visit http://www.theasc.com.
