Etheria Film Festival

Los Angeles / June 29, 2020 / etheriafilmnight.com

In 2019, Etheria celebrated its sixth year of highlighting short films directed by women, and features like Gigi Saul Guerrero’s Culture Shock, Anna Biller’s The Love Witch, and Axelle Carolyn’s Soulmate at the Egyptian Theatre. For those entrants that didn’t quite make the final selection, festival director Stacy Pippi Hammon and director of programming Heidi Honeycutt offered exposure via 2016 and 2017 tours at venues around the world. In conjunction with the Shock Waves podcast and Rebekah McKendry, they also foster up-and-coming talent with the Stephanie Rothman Fellowship, named for the director of cult favorites The Velvet Vampire and Terminal Island. “Etheria is filled with amazing guests and an excellent selection of films,” one panelist says. “There’s a joyful, celebratory atmosphere to it, and their support of filmmakers continues throughout the year.”
