The American Film Market (AFM) announced the five nominees for its first ever Favorite Film Pitch Award. AFM teamed with the People’s Choice Awards to provide independent moviemakers with the opportunity to see their pitches and concepts further developed. This year’s nominees are Stephanie Bell for The Devil of Appalachia, Carlo Besasie for All the Queen’s Men, Mouncey Ferguson for Forger, Barry Kneller for The Mechanics and David Minnihan for Father John.

The nominees were chosen by a group of industry professionals assembled by the AFM. The award will be presented to the pitch with the most online votes. The winner will also receive an AFM 2010 package that includes access for two to the American Film Market, airfare to Los Angeles, accommodations in Santa Monica and scheduled meetings with producers and distributors.

Voting began during the 2010 People’s Choice Awards on January 6, and continues through January 20th. To learn more about this year’s nominees and to vote, visit http://www.pcavote.com.
