Nominations Announced for 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards

This morning marked the latest major event of the award season with the announcement of the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards nominations. Of the 25 awards given, 14 recognize achievements in film (with the other 11 going to television). The movies that fared best included Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air (with six noms) and Rob Marshall’s Fellini musical adaptation Nine (five noms). James Cameron’s Avatar and Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds each garnered four noms. Ricky Gervais, comedian and creator of “The Office,” will host the award ceremony on January 17, 2010. It will be televised live on NBC.
