Florida Film Festival

Orlando, Florida / April 2020 / floridafilmfestival.com / A

This festival is all about making connections in relaxed surroundings with unjaded audiences. It is the only festival in Florida with Oscar accreditation in live action, animation, and documentary shorts categories. Screened in 2018 was Ru Kuwahata and Max Porter’s Negative Space, which received an Oscar nomination. The festival is happy to provide feedback to submitters. Out of 1,994 submissions, 180 films were programmed. Distributors included Gunpowder & Sky, Greenwich Entertainment, and Magnolia Pictures. Competition feature and documentary feature contenders receive airfare, and all submitters receive at least two nights’ accommodation. The Eden Bar has proven to be a fecund venue for making connections.
