I knew you are going to rediscover the movie in editing, but you don’t know how much until you’ve actually been through the process of making the film and then being in the editing room for three months and learning that every take you thought was the best take, was not the best take. You have to completely restructure the scenes in a way that you didn’t expect to do it. Now for next time I know it won’t be such a big deal. That first week when you are seeing the initial cut, the editor showing what she did while you were shooting, it’s just like, “Oh my God I made a terrible movie!” And it’s like, “No, no, no, you have another three months.” You find the movie in the editing. That was a big lesson.
