Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)

Anchorman

If you want to see a movie that makes fun of certain forms of journalism, look no further than this satirical comedy, which was Adam McKay’s directorial debut. It follows Will Ferrell as the title character, a bumbling news anchor at a San Diego news station who clashes with — and lusts after — his new female co-anchor, played by Christina Applegate. It’s a modern comedy classic with hilarious gags, including a bit about Burgundy’s bad habit of reading every word directly from the teleprompter, despite obvious, glaring mistakes in the text.
