After this past weekend’s sold-out showings of Twilight, fans will have something new to look forward to: Summit Entertainment has announced that the studio is moving forward with a sequel to the teen vampire love story.

The movie, New Moon, will be based on author Stephenie Meyer’s second novel in the Twilight series. Meyer, who has no reservations about turning another novel into a silver screen drama, says, “I don’t think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I’m thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on New Moon.”

The sequel is currently slated for release in 2010.

Is every one ensane??  Not wanting to give a honist opinion because it’s Twilight.
If you haven’t read the book how could you understand the passion and longing they have for each other. How they feel one could not live without each other and the physical pain each of them feels when apart. I can only hope the studio hires a new team of writers, directors and hair and makeup crew for ‘New Moon’. They should also consider a soundtrack that actually works with the scenes.

I think that Taylor Lautner should be kept as Jacob. He is perfect for the part. Who cares about him having to be tall. Anyways can’t they do something to just make hims look taller, like in Lord of The Rings they make the hobbits look so much shorter, but they aren’t super short in real life. Whatever you do just PLEASE don’t fire Taylor! HE is a great actor and he didn’t get an oppurtunity to show his great work in twilight with such a small role. If he is in New Moon I know he won’t let us down!

Also I think that Love Story by Taylor Swift and The Way I Loved You by Taylor Swift describe New Moon and Eclipse PERFECTLY. It would be amazing if you put them in the movies

I’m shure we can collect a lot more and will be happy to mail them to your ofice. Please listen to the people that made Twilight what it is today.Thank you

I understand that since Twilight was such a huge hit that you would want the second one to come out almost immediately. BUT, if you rush the movie’s production, it could end up being a complete flop and it could end up disappointing a lot of your fans. Wouldn’t be the better path to spend a little time developing an even bigger Twilight movie than risking loosing half of the fan base in disappointment?
And as for Jacob… call me biased, but I think replacing him is a one way ticket to FLOPPING! A lot of fans recognize Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black. Putting another man in his place is just another way to send the movie crash landing. I’d be willing to bet that there be BILLIONS of petitions being signed and BILLIONS of people protesting the replacement of him.
I think you need to sit down and re-think how you want this movie to end up because one wrong move, like producing it too quickly or replacing one of the main characters, can send the movie WAAAAAAY down.

Two things are certain:
1. You will end up rushing the movie that it won’t be NEARLY as good as Twilight and it’ll be a downright low.
2. More than half of the fan base won’t see the movie if Taylor Lautner isn’t in it.

Sorry to say, but it’s true.
RE-HIRE TAYLOR!

Dear Summit,

I have an idea for a scene in New Moon that i think will work perfectly for demonstrating Bella’s unattachment to the world during the months not described in the novel before the chapter ‘AWAKENING.’ If you could film it as if it’s through Bella’s eyes but it is glassy, as if she is in a bubble.  What will be shown is Bella (through her eyes) walking forward at a normal pace but everything and everyone she sees is in fast-forward motion. Faces are distorted so you cannot tell who is who, all you can see are bodies carrying on with everyday life (mainly school life) while Bella takes one painful step at a time.  The only sound that can be heard is Bella’s sometimes steady, sometimes ragged breathing.  After a little bit Bella’s footsteps fade into the noises that can be heard..one...two...one...two...stop.  As Bella comes to a standstill the picture fades inwards to a black screen, as if she is closing her eyes, and then comes the chapter ‘AWAKENING.’

I believe that this scene will symbolize Bella’s departure from the world into her mind, trying to control the pain that sometimes flares up (represented by the ragged breathing) into a numbness where she does not feel anything at all (represented by the steady but still not peaceful breathing and footsteps).  The fact that nothing can be heard by Bella but her own breathing and later footsteps symbolises that she has wrapped herself in a layer of cotton wool to concentrate on becoming numb, it shows how much concentration she is putting into detatching herself from the pain.  However, it will become evident in the ‘AWAKENING’ segment that while she is numb, the pain is still there.

Fervently hoping that the writer, Ms. Rosenberg, and director, Ms. Hardwicke, will take this into consideration.

Jessica
