Kate Winslet is The Reader
Yet another award season contender with the word "Nazi" in its synopsis, Stephen Daldry's The Reader stars Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes as two former lovers who cross paths at a Nazi war crime trial eight years after their original affair. While this may not sound like the most inventive of plots, with the talent of Winslet and Daldry, who has secured Best Director Oscar nominations for the only two features he's directed thus far (Billy Elliot and The Hours), the critics' positive response to the movie is no surprise. The Reader will hit theaters nationwide on January 9, 2009.SHARE THIS STORY |
