Can 9 Save the World?

Sure to be one of the most inventive animated movies of the year, 9 (seeing release from Focus Features on 9/9/09) takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which the fate of humanity rests upon the shoulders of a little rag doll named 9. Shane Acker co-wrote and directed the movie (based on his Oscar-nominated 2005 short film of the same name) and innovative moviemakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) serve as producers. In this MakingOf.com featurette, Acker discusses his original vision and producer Burton and several members of the high-profile cast (including Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly and Crispin Glover) provide their own insights.
