Crank: High Voltage’s Insane Camera Rigs

Crank: High Voltage, the sequel to Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's frenetic, smash-cut romp Crank, was shot primarily with the Canon XH A1 and Canon HF10, two consumer-grade cameras, and a bunch of homemade, outrageous-looking rigs—all of which you can see in this video, put together by the good folks at Collider.com. Coraline, the stop-motion animated movie directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas) and based on a Neil Gaiman novel, is a prime example of moviemaking that's especially heavy on the "making" aspect. The movie, which features the voices of Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, Ian McShane and John Hodgman ("The Daily Show"), will be released in 3-D on February 6, 2009. Watch this clip to get a glimpse into the production of the movie that's being touted as "The First Handmade Film Shot in 3-D."

Mickey Rourke is Resurrected with The Wrestler

Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream) seems to have a hit on his hands with his latest picture, The Wrestler, and thankfully Fox Searchlight is finally giving all of us who couldn't make it to any of the well-received festival screenings a chance to see what all the noise is about. Check out the new trailer to witness the Mickey Rourke resurrection, hear Bruce Springsteen's latest Oscar bid and see the realism brought on by the cinematography of Maryse Alberti (Crumb, Taxi to the Dark Side).
