The second edition of the Phuket Film Festival to be held June 4-13 2010 on the beautiful international tourist destination of Phuket Thailand is Calling for Entries.

Feature films, documentaries and short films (including animation) are welcome to submit screeners to the Festival.  Information can be found on the website: http://www.phuketfilmfestival.asia Preference will be given to award winning film festival films or world/Asian premiers by award winning film makers.

Despite cancellation of the Festival in 2009 due to the political situation in Thailand, 2010 will see the realization of Thailand’s newest international “sanook” (fun) and cultural event.

“The Festival des Cannes” (Cannes International Film Festival) historically had a rocky 3-4 year start and while we don’t want to emulate them, we sure do want to grow up to be like them,” said Scott Rosenberg, director of the Phuket Film Festival.

The 2010 Festival expects to screen about 30 - 40 films with a People’s Choice Awards held for selected films.

The Festival will accept film submissions until April 30, 2010. There is a US $50 fee for each film submitted – information for payment available on the website.
