Hello,

What are people’s (secret) recipies for making realistic looking theatrical blood?

Also, how do you tweak it for different looks and applcations? eg. fresh blood, old blood, spraying blood, oozing blood etc....

Please share your bloody secrets!

add water to cherry syrup or use it by itself for slow thick liquid, or for smearing skin and clothes (seen pros do it) ;)

I found this non-toxic bloody recipie:

1 Cup of corn syrup
Add a few drops of red food coloring and one drop of green to create a nice dark-red color.
To imitate foamy blood (like in an open sucking chest wound) replace half the corn syrup with clear dishwashing liquid.

Best,
Simon

kyrosyrup (clear) ... *play around with the following amounts in a small bowl with kyro so youc an get he right consistancy*

a box of red/blue/yellow/green food dye.

mix in mainly red .. i’d start off with

6 red
2 blue
1 green
1 yellow

(just to try out) we had to do this over and over and over and over just to get the right consistancy and not fake look.

If you want chunky look, i was told flour..small amounts to get the chunks ... the blood drips smooth and a bit heavy....and it stays on real well..., just know you will have to wash very well to get it off...since i had it all over me for a photoshoot once.
