Hi!
First thing, I want to admit that I haven’t a clue what I am about to ask, so you will forgive me if it might be a bit weird.
Here’s the story:
I did a Google Search using the term “HIRE A MOVIE MAKER “STUDENT” “TORONTO” and found this Forum.
I have a friend who owns a small business which involves safety training via in-house PowerPoint inclusive of some promotional movies pertaining to the specialty. Some time ago I sourced her some movies available on the Internet and I did some hurried amateur editing and she has been using these for the past 12-18 months as her business was getting off the ground.
But now she is looking to create her own ‘personalized’ video content.
A hurried investigation of hiring a professional movie production company was estimated to be in the area of $30,000 at a minimum. Such an expense at this time is prohibitive.
So, then I got to thinking of buying a camera doing it myself ... sortta’ hit an’ miss and hours of editing afterwards. But even with the little I know about movie production, I knew it had to be much more than simply “lights! action!” sortta’ thing.
So, I am here wondering how difficult it might be to hire some ‘amateur’ movie team and what the approximate cost would be and what other kind of requirements I might be looking at.
The safety training videos need not be all that elaborate. However, they should at least contain similar visual and narrative content to what she is presenting now. I would suspect that it may be multi-site in the sense that the ‘movie team’ would be interviewing some safety professionals in the community as well as obtaining footage of safety prerequisites/activities at a few local facilities. And, of course, some footage of the Trainer herself.
The length of her current movie presentation is about 30-45 minutes and so an equitable replacement should be about the same length.
So, having said all that, has anyone some suggestions or ideas or whatever to help me get this “show on the road” sortta’ thing?
I am hoping to perhaps confirm the requirements and cost factors before January and, if a suitable solution is found with regards to cost, to engage it soon afterwards.
What yuh think?
Got any ideas to help this poor lost soul?
Thanks!
