I’m a first time producer working on a web series.  I’d like to shoot a pilot to present to networks for future funding. Most networks now have sites specifically for new web series. Any advice for getting a good pilot off the ground for little or no funding. Also, any advice on Angel Investors?

btw website for the series, http://www.internsanonymous.com - currently under construction.

Have you heard of a site called IndieGoGo? You can raise money online in little bits by making a profile page and asking people to contribute. It’s a good way to raise some money- a few films have already gotten themselves funded by posting on there.

You might not be making a movie, but I bet you could raise money for a pilot on the site. Check it out and see.

When approaching an investor, you need to think like one.  Prepare a business plan that communicates the capital needed, intended uses of capital, the market, the financials, and the potential ROI.  Also, it is worth noting that about 60% of money raised for independent film is done so through individual investors.  So while learning how to approach and pitch investors is extremely important, it is also worth exploring other funding options.  You will find our website helpful, take a look: http://www.sceneclips.com ...and good luck!

Also ronibrown, you should check out http://www.tubefilter.tv.  They are a good resource for anyone who has created, or is thinking about creating a web series.
