SUBMISSIONS DEADLINES: JULY 15, 2009

The Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) is a 10-day long public film festival that runs on the ONESTOP network of LCD screens situated above the subway platforms inside the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).

The festival runs September 11 - 20, 2009, concurrent with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and has an audience of over 1.6 million daily commuters.

All films screened are silent, 1-minute in length and address one of seven urban themes: Urban Diversity; Urban Encounters; Urban Ideas; Urban Imaginary; Urban Journeys; Urban Natural; and Urban Secrets

Films are selected by a panel of filmmakers, academics and programmers with the top 3 films chosen by guest judge Don McKellar (Where The Truth Lies, Slings and Arrows, Blindness).

TUFF is based on an open call for participation from both trained professional and untrained amateur filmmakers.

Over $12,000 in cash awards and other prizes.
