I just purchased an instructional book and dvd set from Rob Ager in the UK. The set is about making high quality, low budget films. The dvds come in PAL format. I understand about area codes on dvds… and how to change the area coding on my dvd player so it will play all regions… but will the player play a PAL format disc and output to a NTSC tv?

Is the dvd likely to mount in my Mac?… at least so I can rip it to disk, then Popcorn it to another disc that will play?
Am I looking at bigger issues than I really want to get into?

What other workarounds should I consider?

I bought a region free dvd player here in Japan, and works well except for PAL. I do have friends though that bought region free dvd players that had a PAL converter built in. They aren’t that expensive. With mac, might be OK, but have you set your region yet?
