Yes, I’m staying up way too late playing around with it!  :)

It’s great that they do have a free version which isn’t going to time out and doesn’t have any limitations, except for the characters, props, etc. 

I’ve just discovered that the ProPack version costs $595, which gives you all of their 3000+ props, characters, sets, vehicles, etc., but there is a student discount for this which is only $75 for a year license.

I’m sticking with the free version for now and will only download the content that I need for my project… I’m downloading some more characters for only $4, but if I see myself spending more than $20 or so on content, I might as well buy the $75 student license and get everything!

I never thought of myself as an animator, but I’m having fun with it!

If you’re in need of props and content, don’t forget that you can browse 100,000’s of free models on the Google Warehouse. Antics V3.1 has built in SketchUp support, so you can browse the Warehouse from within Antics, pick the model you want, and drop it straight into your set.

Check out our YouTube page for videos on how to do that. Particularly the video of an animated robot stomping around a city - all the props there came from SketchUp - very cool!

It shows the previz for a TV commercial running alongside the real life final version. It’s a good example of how you can use Antics to accurately storyboard and previz before you start filming.

It was done by one guy and took him less than two days to finish.

Thanks Gary.  I’ll definitely be importing some sets and props from the Google Warehouse… lots of stuff on there from what I can see.  I’ll let you know if I have any questions.

Cool video too!  Antics communicates so much more than a storyboard does!

We will officially announce this later today, but we’ve just made 6 pre-built sets available for free download.

The six ready-built sets include a green screen stage, a pirate ship, a newsroom, an aircraft carrier imported from SketchUp, a military scene based in the desert and a domestic scene in a kitchen.

We hope that these will give people a head start. You can just download a pre-built scene and start directing your action. They will be especially good for new users as they familiarise themselves with Antics, you can get some action directed in a few minutes rather than spending time developing a set.

We will add more sets for download over the coming weeks. And of course if you build a set that you think others might like to use then let us know, and if it makes the grade we’ll share it with the Antics community!

Yes, I find it is very cool, great, I like its features about Real-time direction and visualisation, I had used cybermotion 3d designer, but it is too expensive for student. Thank for your info.
