When I lived in San Diego I took some film classes at Palomar College, the community college up in San Marcos. That was at least 10 years ago so you’ll want to check out what sort of equipment upgrades they’ve had. I took a film short production class, history of film, screenwriting, and did an internship, but there were other classes offered as well. The program was technically “film studies” rather than “film school”, but they did offer production classes. They worked on video rather than film, but you know what they say about the future of video. Check it out.
