The Archaeology Channel International Film and Video Festival
TAC Festival is a juried international competition in the heritage film genre incorporating archaeology and related disciplines, indigenous peoples and the world around us. It is the only festival of its type in the Western Hemisphere, counterpart to the European archaeological film festivals. Our 501(c)(3) non-profit, Archaeological Legacy Institute, produces TAC Festival annually as part of its mission to share the human cultural legacy with all people everywhere. Archaeological Legacy Institute produced the first TAC Festival in 2003 to celebrate the wonders of the human past-our diverse populations, cultures and environments. The event has since grown in size and significance. For 2007 we received 86 film entries from 23 countries, and will show the 21 top-rated films on the big screen. Since its inception, TAC Festival has become increasingly popular locally and in the Pacific Northwest, delighting audiences with some of the world's best documentary films. The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers
The CSIF: 17th Annual $100 Film Festival - Mar. 12 - 14, 2009 - Calgary, AB CANADA. Deadline for Entries: December 2, 2008. 16mm or Super 8 Film under 22 minutes; MUST provide a 16mm or Super 8 film print for screening. The $100 presents local, national and international independent filmmakers that work on film. The Delphic Art Movie Award
The contest for the Delphic Art Movie Award is hosted by the International Delphic Council and shows short documentaries (max. duration: 10 min) about the fascination of arts and cultures. Two aspects are equally important: 1) contemporary art and its protagonists 2) the preservation of cultural heritage. Important questions are: How can the understanding of contemporary art be encouraged? In which way is cultural heritage preserved and passed on? To convey the fascination, which emanates from art and connected to it the creative process is the special challenge of the contest. Besides artistic achievements, also social cultural aspects can come to the fore. The contest's framework is set by six categories and their disciplines, which represent contemporary or traditional aspects. Acoustic Arts, Performing Arts, Lingual Arts, Visual Arts, Social Arts and Ecological Arts. The films should document, inform and inspire. In addition, the films should be able to get a large audience, which isn't informed over-average, enthusiastic about art and culture in their manifold manifestations. Every artistic field is included, from the contemporary avant-garde to the preservation of traditions and the cultural heritage. Also welcome are short versions of full length documentaries! The Screaming Ant Online Film Festival
The Screaming Ant is an online short film festival dedicated to celebrating talented filmmakers. It was founded in 2010 and it's inaugural year was a great success. The festival is especially competitive, as only five films are selected in each of the following categories: Narrative; Documentary; Animation; Music Video; Experimental Submissions are accepted from March until September. The official selection will be screened on the website from November 1st - November 30th. Our jury of industry professionals will select one director from each category to be honored as a 'Featured Filmmaker'. The festival's highest honor is the Grand Jury Prize, the Golden Ant.

Toronto Urban Film Festival
Recently named one of MovieMaker’s 'Top 20 Coolest Film Festivals,' the Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) is unique in North America. This public film festival reaches 1.3 million daily commuters with an eclectic mix of silent film, animation and experimental one-minute shorts. Films run every 10 minutes on 300 platform screens throughout the city's subway system. Top films of the festival are selected by a celebrity judge and can be viewed year-round on the TUFF Website. The festival runs every September, concurrent with TIFF. The fifth annual call for submissions runs from April 1 - July 15, 2011.

Trenton Film Festival

Documentaries Call for Entries - for United Nations Association Film Festival
The 15th annual United Nations Association Film Festival (UNAFF) will take place on October 18-28, 2012 at Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Francisco and Stanford University in California. This festival celebrates the power of international documentary films dealing with human rights, the environment, protection of refugees, famine, homelessness, racism, disease control, women's issues, children, universal education, war and peace. In addition to our ongoing celebration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, this year we emphasize the theme "Human Dignity." "The recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world." (Preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights)
The submission deadline is May 22, 2012 (the postmark date) and the fee is $25 for films up to 30 minutes and $35 for longer ones. There is also an early and late deadline (May 2nd and June 2nd respectively). The late deadline fee is $45. Acceptable formats are 16mm and 35mm film; Beta SP, DVD (NTSC). Preview formats on DVD (NTSC region 0 or 1). Please test your consumer-burned DVD on several makes and models of players before submitting it. Our jury process is unfortunately not suitable for on-line screeners

Wildwood Film Festival is the chief source of funding for Wildwood Prod. Inc., a non-profit focused on promoting Wisconsin film makers. Definitely a great time time to be had. Not a sleepy fest. A emphasis on the comedic, but open to any genre film. Started judging last year with great success. Small, Solid and Growing!! The 2007 event will be the 6th. We are here to stay!
Williamsburg International Film Festival
WILLiFEST was established to provide a platform for the creative visions of today's emerging artists. The Williamsburg International Film Festival is the film component of WILLiFEST. The film and music festivals are opportunities for artists to enhance their career by exposing their film and music to an influential audience, gaining crucial media exposure and strengthening industry relationships. Additionally, there will be a StorySlam event presented in partnership with The Moth organization as well as photo exhibits by the nation's premiere jazz and rock-n-roll photographers. Wisconsin Film Festival
In its thirteenth year, the Wisconsin Film Festival (Madison, Wisconsin, USA | March 30th to April 3rd, 2011) presents a broad range of independent American and world cinema (narrative, documentary, experimental, shorts), restorations and revivals, and locally made pictures from Wisconsin filmmakers. The festival plays in nine theaters, all within walking distance, in the heart of the state's capital city. The 2010 festival screened 192 films (roughly half features and half shorts) and had an attendance of 34,539 in just five days. Highlights include a retrospective of South Korean director Bong Joon-ho's four feature films, including his recent "Mother," and a special presentation and discussion of UW-Madison graduate Michael Mann's 2004 film "Collateral" by The New York Times' co-chief film critic, Manohla Dargis.

Woodstock Museum Film Festival
Completed features, documentaries, shorts and works in progress. All genres including animation and digital media; everything must be in English (subtitles okay). Submission format: DVD (NTSC and PAL), VHS, S-VHS, Hi-8, and BETA SP. Supporting materials could include: description of piece, autobiography, resume and artist statement. $15 entry, $7 entry for shorts (half hour or less), double for late entry. Fees cover archival P.R. package including audience critiques for selected entries. SASE for return of entries.

Zion Film Festival
Receiving much praise among film directors, ZIFF is quickly becoming one of favorite vacation film festivals in the country. In 2005 the festival grew to showing more than 70 films. The 2nd annual Zion Film Festival will be held at the Opera House in St. George, and at Flanigan's Inn and the new Canyon Community Center in Springdale, Utah February 23 - 25, 2007. With a "Road Movie" theme, ZIFF will showcase special screenings filmmed on the road in the midwest in addition to the films in competition. It all closes with a big Indie Awards Ceremony on Sunday as the slogan demands "Road Trip in the name of Independent film... Oscar Weekend"
