Artsfest Film Festival, 9th Annual
http://www.moviate.orgFilmspeak.com and Moviate present the 9th annual Artsfest Film Festival. Screenings are free to the public so there is always a large audience and high exposure. Past attending filmmakers and guests include: John Waters, Helen Stickler, David Redmon, Mark Borchardt, Richard Edson, Kelley Baker, and many more! Select films are shown in 35mm and IMAX. Projecting 16mm, Super-8, BetaSp and DVD as well. Entry fee is only $20 or $10 with a Valid Student I.D. by downloading the PDF from the moviate website, or by using Without A Box.

James Schamus Honored with Trailblazer Award at Woodstock
James Schamus, the man behind Focus Features (think The Constant Gardener, Atonement), was chosen to receive the 2008 Trailblazer Award from the Woodstock Film Festival. Prior to working at Focus he was co-president of independent production company Good Machine for 11 years and won numerous awards for his own work, including the award for Best Screenplay at the 1997 Cannes International Film Festival for The Ice Storm.
