The annual Appalachian Film Festival is sponsored by the Huntington Regional Film Commission. Prizes include awards up to $1,000 and include some first, second and third place awards, depending on the category. A complete list of awards, previous winners, opportunities for additional sponsorship and other festival events as well as ways to volunteer is included on the Website. The contest is open to all residents of the states that make up the Appalachian region, including West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.
