Palm Beach Film School

The Palm Beach Film School and the Miami Film School offer intensive, “hands-on, learn-by-doing” training program that teach students to write, shoot, direct and edit their own short, character-driven drama, comedy or horror films at an affordable tuition in 8 or 16 weeks. Prague Film School

Prague Film School provides intensive training in film-making (with options of specialization in directing/cinematography/post-production), animation, documentary and acting for film. Standard program length is one year. Semester and summer programs are offered as well. All programs are taught in English. Students come from all over the world, with backgrounds in film, design, acting, humanities and media. Programs are very intensive and practical; each students works on ~30 films per year, and shoots 4-6 films of his/her own. The school has ~60 students studying at the same time. Raindance New York: 99 Minute Film School

This workshop is designed to educate producers, directors and cinematographers about the best practices of shooting with Red One. This workshop navigates filmmakers through every aspect of high-end digital cinematography. The Red One camera has revolutionized the world of independent filmmaking. In the last year hundreds of projects, from small indies to huge blockbusters like “District 9,” utilized Red’s 35mm censor and 4k resolution. However, this cutting-edge technology has introduced a lot of questions: How does Red One compare to 35mm film, HD and other digital cameras? What are the cost advantages and disadvantages of Red? What is the best workflow for handling Red on the set and in post-production? How will shooting on Red One effect the sales potential of the film? This workshop is designed to educate producers, directors and cinematographers about the best practices of shooting with Red One and navigate filmmakers through the minefield of high-end digital cinematography. Red One Camera Workshop is co-presented by Persona Films, an award-winning film and commercial production company based in New York City and Twitch Post, a post-production boutique specializing in Red workflow in post.

Ryerson University

Ryerson University's School of Image Arts offers undergraduate programs leading to a BFA, in film, photography and new media. A new Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media is set to begin in September 2007. The MFA is centred on production, drawing on Ryerson's tradition of applied education and strong industry and alumni links in film, photography and new media. Seattle Film Institute

Tom Savini’s Digital Film Production Program at Douglas Education Center

Douglas Education Center (DEC), a creative career school located just 30 minutes south of Pittsburgh, is already home to Tom Savini’s monstrously successful Special Make-Up Effects Program, which began in 2000 and has graduated hundreds of students from all over the country.
