As of June 23rd, 2011, Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen, Kathy Bates and Marion Cotillard, has become the director’s highest-grossing film in 25 years. The critically-acclaimed film, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in mid-May and is still playing in wide release, has so far grossed $23.3 million, surpassing the box office gains of both Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) and Match Point (2005), the auteur’s two biggest commercial successes from recent years.

Allen’s next movie, Bop Decameron, is currently in pre-production and slated for a 2012 release. The cast of the film, which is set in modern-day Rome, includes Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, Greta Gerwig, Judy Davis, Ellen Page, Penélope Cruz (who won a Best Supporting Oscar for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Roberto Benigni and Allen himself, who will star in one of his own films for the first time since 2006’s Scoop.

I’m a big Owen Wilson fan. I’m glad he got back on track after his episode because he is a very underrated actor in my opinion. Working along side of Woody Allen doesn’t hurt either.

This is by far one of my favorite movies of all time.  I’m not a huge Woody Allen fan, but this movie touched me in a way I can’t explain.  Owen Wilson really shows another side of himself.
