Hulk Smash Box Office

It may not have earned as much as Ang Lee’s original 2003 attempt at the adaptation, but, as predicted, Louis Leterrier’s The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, William Hurt and Tim Roth, rose to the top of the box office this weekend, taking in an estimated $54.5 million.
The weekend’s other big opening, M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening, starring Mark Wahlberg, John Leguizamo and Zooey Deschanel, performed better than expected with $30.5 million, earning the number three spot, while the family-friendly animated flick Kung Fu Fanda, featuring the voices of Jack Black and Angelina Jolie, held strong in second place with more than $34 million in receipts.
With Steve Carell’s Get Smart and Mike Myers’ The Love Guru releasing this weekend, will The Incredible Hulk continue to see green next weekend? Find out on Monday’s Top of the Box Office report.

I went to see The Incredible Hulk and really liked it. I had low expectations and could not imagine Edward Norton as Incredible Hulk but he surprised and delivered. The movie was well executed, no boring moments and producers impressed with the ability to introduce main character for who he was with little dialogue. I find that impressive each time someone handles that perfectly. Director Louis Leterrier did a great job and the fact that gorgeous Liv Tyler was in the movie only made it so much better. The only other movie that was even more impressive, with even better introduction of main character with even less dialogue, was Wall-E. The Incredible Hulk however does a great job entertaining and counts as a wonderful movie. The producers had an uneasy task after the original Hulk received not very flattering reviews, but I think they can be proud of themselves for what they filmed. Great job guys.
