Elite Home Theater Releases Batman-Themed Line

Well-to-do Batman fans can now watch their favorite superhero in the sanctuary of their very own Bat Cave—and just in time for the release of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, starring Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger, this summer. Canadian luxury home theater company Elite Home Theater Seating has introduced its new Batman-themed line, and with sleek features like the metal slab that slides back to reveal the movie screen, the design takes its decorating cues expressly from the Caped Crusader.
According to Elite Home Theater Seating’s CEO and founder Bobby Bala, the Bat Cave’s distinct stylistic elements make it ideally suited for home theater viewing. “We chose to go with the Batman theme because the environments are very visual and give that ‘wow’ effect,” says Bala. “In our opinion, Batman is a bit more cool, dark and ‘theaterish’ than, say, Spider-man. It also has a few more props that can be more easily incorporated into a home theater.”
Those props include metal Batman wall sconces, stalactites, a grated steel floor and “various computer gizmos and gadgets that light up,” according to Bala. The theater’s chairs are also essential to the design. Says Bala, “The sharp lines and edges of the chair design reminded us of the Bat Suit, so that’s why we decided to incorporate this particular chair model into this room.”
With plans for a Superman-themed “Fortress of Solitude” design already in the works, Elite Home Theater Seating is excited about its latest vision. Reports Bala, “our first ordered Bat Cave project is currently under construction . . . So far it’s looking even better than the conceptual drawings.”
